Long and narrow, Chile has a great diversity of landscapes and there
is much to do! From magnificent Patagonia to the unique wonders of
the Atacama, you'll experience highlights across the
furthest reaches of Chile.

Day 1 ~ Arrive Santiago: Fronting the snow capped Andes; the Chilean capital is a blend of colonial and modern architecture. There are lovely parks and gardens,
excellent museums, fine restaurants and great shopping. Arrival greeting and transfer to your selected hotel. (Accommodations, Santiago)

Day 2 ~ Santiago: City tour of Santiago. This tour includes the main landmarks in the city of Santiago, such as Avenida Bernardo O'Higgins, Santa Lucia Hill, Barrio Lastarria, the La Moneda Palace, the Santiago City Hall, the Cathedral, the old financial district, and the urban park, Parque Forestal, the confines of which hold the lovely Museum of Fine Arts building. After these sights, you will board a cable car and ride to the top of San Cristobal Hill for a real treat: a panoramic view of the city of Santiago. Last, but not least, you will take a tour of the new financial district, cleverly known as "Sanhattan", located at the highest point in the city. The area is an incredible contrast to the early morning with its modern architecture. You will return to your hotel afterward.
(Breakfast, Accommodations, Santiago)

Day 3 ~ Santiago-Puerto Natales: Transfer to the airport for your flight to Punta Arenas (we recommend arriving into Punta Arenas by 1:00 pm or earlier to connect to a 1:00 pm or 2:30 pm bus), and then transfer to the bus terminal where you will board a regular scheduled bus to Puerto Natales. The 3-hour journey takes you past large estancias and fields of grazing sheep, with mountains far away
on the horizon. You will be met at the station in Puerto Natales and transferred to your hotel with a view of the Sound. (Breakfast, Accommodations, Santiago)

Day 4 ~ Puerto Natales:After breakfast, depart for a full day tour to Torres del Paine National Park. From Puerto Natales, the scenery becomes even more spectacular and the 2-½ hour journey passes quickly. Once inside the Park, the road passes lagoons and grassy hills with grazing herds of Guanacos (related to
llamas and camels). It is easy to spot flocks of the ostrich-like Rheas known as Nandu, and if you are lucky, Condors flying overhead. The crown jewel of the park are the three sheer granite towers, the Towers of Paine, which dominate the landscape. In the late afternoon, transfer to your selected hotel.
(Breakfast, Lunch, Accommodations, Puerto Natales)

Day 5 ~ Puerto Natales-Punta Arenas:After breakfast, transfer to Punta
Arenas. Settle into your hotel before taking a tour of the southernmost city in the continental land mass, a voyage through the history of Patagonia. The first stop is held over the view point of “Cerro de la Cruz”, from where there is a magnificent panoramic view of the colorful top roofs, the Strait of Magellan and in the background the large Island of Tierra del Fuego. In this stop, enjoy lectures with very important information given by the local guide. The tour continues through the very well kept street of the city toward the main square (Plaza de Armas), surrounded by beautiful buildings where it's possible to buy some hand-crafts. It is located by the monument to Ferdinand Magellan as well. Afterwards, you will visit the Salesian Museum “Maggiorino Borgatello”, founded by the Salesian Congregation in 1893. It is one of the oldest of its kind in Chile. This museum displays a complete collection about Patagonian Indians, flora, fauna, history and economy. In the last part of the tour, you are driven to the north of the city in order to see different monuments, such as Monument to the Shepherd, Croat Monument, Antoine de
Saint Exupery Square and different neighbourhoods with a return to your hotel
afterward. (Breakfast, Puerto Natales; Accommodations, Punta Arenas)

Day 6 ~ Arrive Atacama: Arrival greeting at the Calama Airport. Transfer 64 miles to San Pedro de Atacama, an oasis of adobe houses at the edge of a salt lake. This unique town, with an altitude of 10,170 feet is the gateway to exploring this spectacular region. (Breakfast, Punta Arenas; Accommodations, Atacama)

Day 7 & 8 ~ Atacama: After breakfast, select your daily excursions for the day. (Breakfast, Accommodation, Atacama)
Examples of Excursion Options:
Toconao-Atacama Salt Flat - The tour begins with a visit to Toconao, a lovely Andean village known for its houses made of white volcanic stone. Then, continue to the fertile Jeria gorge to walk through its orchards, which offer a striking contrast with the arid desert. Visit the impressive Atacama Salt Flats, the largest in Chile, and the site of many ponds that provide a habitat for migratory birds and flamingos. The tour ends at the Chaxa Lagoon, a major breeding site for pink flamingos. Moon Valley - This excursion takes you to Moon Valley, one of the
most interesting geological sites in Northern Chile. The underground salts and carbonates are responsible for the complex sandstone formations found in the area.

Day 9 ~
Depart Atacama:  Transfer to the airport for your flight home or to your next  destination! (Breakfast, Atacama)
